On December 13, Visionox (002387) announced on an interactive platform that its invested company, Chengdu VISTAR Optoelectronics, has completed the installation of equipment for China’s first TFT-based Micro-LED production line in September of this year. With a total investment of CNY 3 billion, the production line is now entering the mass production and shipment stage.
Chengdu VISTAR Optoelectronics Co., Ltd. was established in August 2020 in the Chengdu High-tech Zone and is the first company in mainland China to specialize in the independent R&D, large-scale production, and marketing of Micro-LED technology. On September 10, VISTAR’s first TFT-based Micro-LED production line (VSM) equipment was moved in.
Micro-LED is widely recognized as the “ultimate display” technology, featuring high brightness, low power consumption, long lifespan, and wide color gamut. It can be well applied in various products of different sizes such as commercial displays, large-size TVs, automotive displays, wearables, smartphones, and AR/VR. Chengdu VISTAR focuses on the research and industrialization of Micro-LED display technology. The company has already successfully lit up TFT-based Micro-LED products in sizes ranging from 4.78 inches to 102 inches. VISTAR has also made breakthroughs in key technologies such as hybrid drive, mass transfer, and repair.
