    Introduction

    In the world of high-end LCD monitors, MiniLED backlighting is undoubtedly a key topic. It offers brightness far superior to traditional edge-lit displays and provides more precise local dimming when using a higher number of zones. The HDR experience is also enhanced significantly. Over the past few years, MiniLED-backlit monitors have been among the most premium models from various brands. Now, with the introduction of the new QD-MiniLED generation, an additional layer of quantum dot film has been incorporated, extending the advantages of MiniLED while offering a wider color gamut.     The Titan Army P245MS we’re reviewing today is the world’s first 24.5-inch QD-MiniLED backlit monitor. Its compact size makes it an ideal choice for fast-paced FPS gaming, delivering a great experience. The P245MS not only retains all the advantages of traditional large-screen QD-MiniLED displays but is also better suited for eSports environments.

    For those who are short on time, here’s a quick summary of the P245MS’s key features:

    1. QD-MiniLED Backlighting with Enhanced Brightness and Color: The Titan Army P245MS features QD-MiniLED backlighting, which adds an extra layer of quantum dots compared to traditional MiniLED. This ensures an ultra-high brightness level and an expanded color gamut.
    2. 24.5-inch “Golden” Screen for Gaming: The P245MS uses a 24.5-inch panel from BOE, supporting QHD resolution and 240Hz refresh rate. This combination delivers clear visuals and ultra-smooth performance, ideal for both entertainment and gaming.
    3. Advanced Color Calibration for Precision: With QD quantum dot technology, the P245MS provides richer color expression. It covers 99% sRGB, 99% DCI-P3, and 99% AdobeRGB color gamuts. Three color modes are calibrated to ensure an average ΔE ≤ 2, ensuring accurate and true-to-life colors.
    4. HDR1000 Standard for Stunning HDR Experience: Thanks to QD-MiniLED backlighting, the P245MS achieves a peak brightness of 1000 nits in HDR mode, with black level brightness as low as 0.02 nits, ensuring a rich and dynamic visual experience.
    5. Multiple Gaming Modes for Enhanced eSports Experience: The P245MS offers up to 13 customizable modes for gaming and entertainment. Each mode allows users to adjust and save settings, enhancing the experience for different activities.

    Appearance Design

    Let’s dive deeper into the design and aesthetics of the Titan Army P245MS, an essential factor for those considering a small screen eSports monitor.

    The P245MS boasts a three-sided ultra-thin bezel design that enhances multi-monitor setups, providing an immersive visual experience. The monitor’s FastIPS panel offers vibrant colors and quick response times while supporting 178-degree wide viewing angles to ensure color accuracy from any direction.

    The stand is hollowed out, minimizing the space it occupies on your desk. It also features cable management holes to keep cables neatly organized.

    An innovative feature is the light sensor on the top of the monitor. With Auto Light Sense enabled via the OSD menu, the monitor can automatically adjust the brightness based on the surrounding lighting conditions. This sensor is highly responsive, offering a rare yet valuable addition to the display.

    The back of the monitor is visually sleek, featuring large straight-line designs complemented by striped patterns. This reduces the apparent thickness of the monitor. The P245MS also supports customizable RGB eSports lighting, allowing users to adjust light settings through the OSD menu, giving the monitor a personalized and dynamic appearance.

    For convenience, the P245MS uses a quick-release mount for easy installation and removal. It also supports VESA wall mounting, giving users the flexibility to install it in the most suitable position.

    The ergonomically designed stand supports height adjustment, tilt, swivel, and portrait mode, ensuring an elevated experience even without an additional mount.

    Connectivity and OSD Menu

    The Titan Army P245MS features two HDMI 2.0 ports, one DP 1.4 video input, and an audio output, enabling connection to a variety of devices, including gaming consoles, PCs, and audio equipment. The OSD menu buttons are traditional physical buttons, which may require some time to get used to. We recommend upgrading to a five-way joystick for easier navigation in future models.

    OSD menu keys still choose the traditional push-button type, the operation is a little cumbersome and needs a certain time to learn, hope to upgrade the five-way rocker in the future.

    Theoretical Testing

    To give you a more objective view of the Titan Army P245MS, we conducted thorough tests using a SpyderX Elite color calibrator and real-world gaming scenarios. The tests covered aspects such as color gamut, tonal response, grayscale, color/brightness uniformity, and color accuracy.

    Color Gamut: The P245MS covers 100% sRGB, 98% AdobeRGB, and 98% P3 color gamuts, reaching the advertised specifications.

    Tonal Response: The measured black curve is close to the “Luminance 2.2” curve, indicating strong tonal response.

    Grayscale Performance: The monitor performs well at full brightness, with a color temperature ranging from 6900K to 7600K, slightly on the cooler side.

    Brightness Uniformity: The monitor performs excellently in this category, with a maximum brightness of 634.4 nits. Brightness variation is minimal across the screen.

    Color Accuracy: The monitor achieved an average ΔE of 0.97, with the maximum value reaching 1.78. An average ΔE < 2 is considered excellent, meaning most users will not notice color differences.

    Brightness uniformity test: Titans P245MS display performed better overall, with the maximum brightness in the 5th quadrant and the maximum difference in the 3rd quadrant, with a difference of 28.9cd/m².

    Color accuracy tests: Titan P245MS display results in an average ΔE value of 0.97 and a maximum ΔE value of 1.78. In general, the average ΔE < 2, the human eye is basically unable to distinguish the difference in color, Titan Army P245MS color accuracy can even be comparable to some professional displays.

        Hi Denis,
        40.1 cd/m² (nits) at 0% brightness and 50% contrast is generally not considered too bright for night-time viewing.

        For reference:

        Typical comfortable night-time brightness for most displays is 20–60 nits.

        40 nits falls right in the ideal range — bright enough to see details, but not glaring.

        If you feel it’s still slightly strong in a dark room, you can reduce:

        Contrast to 30–40%,
        or

        Enable Night Mode / Warm Color Temperature to improve comfort.
