On May 30, SAIC Volkswagen announced the launch of the new Tiguan L Pro, starting at $32,700. The Tiguan L Pro is equipped with various intelligent driving technologies, making it one of the standout features of the model.
Advanced Lighting Features
Notably, in terms of automotive lighting, the Tiguan L Pro comes with IQ.Light high-resolution LED smart projection headlights, featuring a new eagle-wing style across the front. The single-side illumination reaches 25,600 pixels, offering a range of lighting functions, including projected light carpets, narrow road vehicle width indication, welcome/farewell projection effects, adaptive steering lights, dynamic light assistance, and flowing turn signals.
Previous Innovations in Lighting
Last year, Volkswagen also introduced high-pixel headlights in the top-tier version of the Touareg, utilizing the h-Digi® Micro LED lighting module co-developed by Marelli and ams OSRAM. This lighting module features Micro LED chips sized at 40μm x 40μm, available in two specifications: a 1:4 aspect ratio with 25,600 pixels and a 1:3 aspect ratio with 19,200 pixels.
Current Market Status
It’s important to note that the Micro LED pixel headlight technology is currently in a user training phase, primarily used in high-end models. Besides the Tiguan L Pro and the top-tier Touareg, the NIO ET9 and the new Porsche Cayenne also feature Micro LED pixel headlights.
Intelligent Cockpit
In addition to its lighting advancements, the Tiguan L Pro boasts a rich display system, including a 15-inch smart 2K floating central touchscreen, an 11.6-inch HD passenger entertainment screen, a 10.3-inch full digital LCD instrument panel, and a heads-up display system. It is powered by Qualcomm’s third-generation Snapdragon cockpit platform flagship chip, enabling seamless multi-screen interaction and 5G connectivity for a comprehensive and convenient interactive experience.
