On December 3, TCL’s Intelligent Display and Manufacturing (TCL Smart Display BU) announced the official launch of the Phase IV Mini LED production line at its core manufacturing facility.

Meeting Market Demands with Expanded Capacity
To effectively address growing market demand and the increasing pressure on delivery timelines, TCL launched the Phase IV project for its Mini LED manufacturing capabilities on September 27, 2024. This expansion is designed to support TCL’s Mini LED + Large Screen Strategy.
Over the course of just 45 days, 66 pieces of production equipment were delivered, and the first unit arrived at the production facility on November 22. On December 3, two new production lines were successfully tested and began trial production.
Expanding Mini LED Manufacturing Capabilities
The Smart Display BU Manufacturing Center, the largest production hub under TCL’s operations, focuses on the production and design of smart screens (including TVs, various intelligent display products, and related accessories). Notably, the center’s Phase I Mini LED manufacturing project officially started in 2023.
As demand for Mini LED technology continues to grow, TCL responded by initiating the Phase II expansion in February of the same year. This included the successful trial production of the 65T7K TV, leading to the mass production and timely delivery of 4,000 units of the 85T7K TV, all with a zero defect rate.
Continued Innovation to Meet Strategic Goals
In line with the implementation of TCL’s Mini LED + Large Screen Strategy, TCL initiated its Phase III Mini LED production expansion in September 2024 to further address the increasing production and delivery needs.

By September 2024, the core manufacturing facility’s COB Workshop had planned the construction of 8 fully automated, high-speed Mini LED production lines. These lines are capable of processing LED chips as small as 80×80μm and producing light boards as large as 1200x460mm, supporting 21-120 inch Mini LED backlight modules. With this setup, the workshop can achieve an impressive annual processing capacity of 1.71 billion Mini LEDs.
