On December 31, 2024, the National Intellectual Property Administration of China announced that TCL CSOT has been granted a new patent for a Micro LED chip transfer device and transfer method (Patent No. CN114695624B). The patent was filed in March 2022.

Key Features of the Patent
This innovation provides a Micro LED chip transfer device and method, which includes:
- Machine Platform: Used to support and transport the target substrate.
- Temporary Substrate: Serves as the temporary carrier for the Micro LED chip.
- Stinger Wheel: Equipped with at least three needles, designed to detach the Micro LED chip from the temporary substrate and transfer it to the target substrate.
- Pulley: Used to convey the temporary substrate.
How the Transfer Process Works
During the Micro LED chip‘s transfer process, the stinger wheel and pulley are positioned above the machine platform and on the side of the temporary substrate that faces away from the Micro LED chip.
Achieving High Transfer Efficiency
With the adoption of this transfer device and method, the transfer efficiency can reach up to one million chips per hour, significantly enhancing the Micro LED chip transfer efficiency. This advancement increases the production efficiency of Micro LED displays, ultimately lowering production costs.
