Recently, LED manufacturer Harvatek Corporation, in collaboration with the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), launched the first Micro LED AR smart glasses in China Taiwan. The product boasts a high-quality (FHD) display, high brightness, and low energy consumption, significantly improving the outdoor user experience and addressing the common brightness issues faced by AR glasses under strong light, making it adaptable to various environments.

Micro LED Technology Enhances Display Performance
The Micro LED display panel of these glasses was co-developed by Harvatek and ITRI, with optical optimization enhancing its brightness to over 3,000 nits. This brightness is 5 to 10 times higher than that of OLED AR glasses available in China Taiwan, ensuring clear visibility even under direct sunlight. Furthermore, the power consumption is kept under 1W, greatly extending the device’s battery life, making it more suitable for long-duration use.

Advanced Semiconductor Technology for AR Applications
To further optimize the display effect, ITRI focused on research and development of Micro LED for virtual and augmented reality applications. Leveraging years of expertise in semiconductor technology, ITRI successfully developed Micro LED pixels with a pitch smaller than 4 microns, which were precisely transferred to a CMOS substrate with integrated semiconductor circuits. This innovation overcomes the technical challenge of alignment accuracy.

Real-time Multilingual AI Translation for Enhanced Communication
Additionally, the glasses are integrated with artificial intelligence technology, supporting real-time voice translation. The voice can be instantly translated into multiple languages, including Chinese, English, Japanese, and Italian, and displayed as subtitles on the screen. This feature is especially valuable in international conferences and online forums, enhancing communication in multilingual scenarios.
About the Companies
Harvatek Corporation, established in 1995, focuses on the downstream packaging industry of LED, including the design, manufacturing, testing, and import-export trade of diodes. ITRI is dedicated to research and development and industrial services.
