Recently, Samsung Electronics and Longli Technology have both announced new patents related to LED technology, including advancements in Micro LED technology.
Samsung Electronics
According to the announcement from the National Intellectual Property Administration, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has been granted a patent titled “Display Module, Display Device Including the Display Module, and Method for Manufacturing the Display Module,” with the authorization announcement number CN113167458B, and the application date of December 2019.
The patent abstract reveals a display module comprising: a substrate; multiple micro light-emitting diodes (Micro LEDs) arranged on the substrate and configured to emit light; a reflective layer surrounding the side surfaces of each Micro LED; and a light-blocking layer positioned on top of the reflective layer.
Longli Technology
Longli Technology has been granted a patent titled “Micro-LED Display Device and Electronic Device,” with the authorization announcement number CN111146232B, and the application date of December 2019. This patent provides a display device that is ultra-thin, has a wide color gamut, and high dynamic contrast, while also improving the uniformity of the light source and enhancing light utilization efficiency.

The patent discloses a Micro LED display device, which includes a blue LED light source matrix, a PCB driver board, and a quantum dot diffusion film. The PCB driver board electrically mounts the blue LED light source matrix. The quantum dot diffusion film is positioned above the blue LED light source matrix. The blue LED light source matrix forms a first pixel arrangement with i adjacent rows and j adjacent columns, where i and j are integers equal to or greater than 2. The quantum dot diffusion film includes a high-diffusion-rate structure located on the light-entry surface of the film.
