Introduction of ProMetric® I45 Imaging Colorimeter
Recently, Radiant Vision Systems announced the launch of the new ProMetric® I45 imaging colorimeter, designed specifically for online testing of displays, backlighting components, light sources, and module products.
Optimized Performance Features
The ProMetric® I45 has been optimized for efficiency, resolution, and measurement accuracy, offering global shutter imaging and high read speeds while supporting 10G high-speed Ethernet communication. This colorimeter features a scientific-grade 44.7-megapixel CMOS sensor, enabling pixel-level measurements for displays, brightness measurements between and within characters for backlit keyboards and panels, and accurate LED brightness and color measurements for devices equipped with large LED arrays. This flexible system effectively addresses the needs of various lighting and non-lighting component applications, providing accurate and repeatable measurements.
Enhanced Imaging Resolution
Doug Kreysar, former CEO of Radiant Vision Systems, stated, “The demand for image-based metrology systems continues to require higher imaging resolutions to capture more precise and critical details in devices of any shape or size. For the most effective metrology systems, the goal is to capture the entire device with a single image while measuring all of its component features. Improved resolution helps us assess larger areas, such as LED screens while measuring the brightness and color of each diode. Additionally, it enables us to measure millions of tiny light-emitting elements on smartphones or microdisplays simultaneously, ensuring uniformity between pixels. High-resolution imaging systems can capture displays or backlighting components with larger sizes and richer features, allowing us to uniquely evaluate each light-emitting symbol or shape at the same time.”
CIE-Matched Filters and Seamless Integration
CIE-matched color filters and neutral density filters enable the ProMetric® I45 to closely match human visual perception. The I45 is optimized to work seamlessly with Radiant Vision Systems’ industry-leading TrueTest™ automated visual inspection software. TrueTest software provides a complete turnkey solution for production-level testing, utilizing an extensive library of optical measurement and inspection tools.
Expansion of the I Series
The new I45 colorimeter expands Radiant’s I series of imaging colorimeters, which includes various systems with resolutions ranging from 2 million to 61 million pixels, offering extensively validated imaging performance that has made the ProMetric system a preferred choice for manufacturing engineers, display manufacturers, and optical designers for over 30 years.
