    Total Investment of ¥1.8 Billion! Omnisun Materials Starts Construction of 8.6-Generation High-Precision Mask Substrate Project

    On December 26, Hunan Omnisun Information Materials Co., Ltd (OIM) officially began construction of its 8.6-generation and below high-precision mask substrate industrial park. The total investment for the project amounts to ¥1.8 billion ($247.5 million), and it will be implemented in two phases. The first phase, with an investment of ¥800 million ($110 million), will focus on the construction of high-precision mask substrates for flat-panel displays (FPD) using 8.6-generation and below substrates. The second phase, with an investment of ¥1 billion ($137.5 million), will target the production of high-precision mask substrates for semiconductors, capable of supporting process nodes down to 28nm.

    Phase One: Advanced Manufacturing of Display Substrates

    The first phase of the 8.6-generation and below high-precision mask substrate project will incorporate intelligent equipment and establish a high-generation production line. Covering an area of 39,979 square meters with a total building area of 53,678 square meters, this phase will produce substrates that meet the display needs of LTPS, LTPO, AMOLED, and Micro LED technologies. The project is expected to be completed and begin production by December 2025.

    Phase Two: Supporting Semiconductor Process Nodes Down to 28nm

    The second phase of the project, planned to start in 2025, will focus on high-precision mask substrates for semiconductors. This phase is designed to support semiconductor manufacturing processes ranging from 130nm to 28nm. The second phase is projected to start production in 2026.
