On December 16, 2024, news from Qijiang reported that, currently, dozens of white six-head planar high-speed die bonding machines on the COB packaging production line are continuously producing LED displays at the second-phase digital, Class 1000 cleanroom facility of NEWLED Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. in Chongqing.

A company representative stated that during the construction of the second-phase COB packaging production line, the local government addressed their power supply concerns, helping to increase overall revenue by 20% this year.
The second-phase production line was launched in June 2023, and preparations for the third-phase smart production line are underway. According to earlier reports, the second-phase line utilizes COB packaging technology. In contrast, the third-phase line will primarily focus on advanced packaging production for in-house chip development and Micro LED screen production.
In recent years, NEWLED has been establishing digital factories in Chongqing and Jiangxi, creating fully automated production lines for SMD small-pitch, COB small-pitch, and Mini/Micro LED displays. The two major production bases have a combined annual capacity of 250,000 square meters.
Government Support Boosts Revenue by 20%
During the development of the second-phase COB packaging production line, NEWLED benefited from local government support to resolve power supply issues, leading to a 20% revenue increase for the company this year.
Future Plans for Smart Manufacturing
NEWLED is already preparing for its third-phase smart production line. This new line will focus on advanced packaging for Micro LED screens and in-house chip development, which is expected to significantly enhance the company’s technological capabilities in the Mini-LED and Micro LED sectors.
