Recently, Micro Win Display announced the successful launch of its first sub-100-micron driver chip (Micro IC), designed to complement the characteristics of Micro LED technology. The company stated that this milestone marks a significant reduction in production costs for Micro ICs, paving the way for potential mass production. Following this development, Micro Win plans to integrate the newly launched Micro IC with Micro LED chips to complete Chiplet packaging.
Micro Win aims to address the challenges of Micro LED chip inspection and low transfer yield through its Chiplet architecture, which combines RGB Micro LED chips and a Micro IC driver chip into a single pixel device. This integrated structure facilitates the testing, sorting, and binning of Micro LED chips, reducing the dependency on wavelength consistency and transfer precision. Additionally, the Chiplet structure is compatible with mature COB (Chip-on-Board) technology, which helps circumvent the large panel transfer yield issues and offers improved pixel repair capabilities.

Compared to traditional TFT (Thin Film Transistor) drivers, Micro ICs produced with monocrystalline silicon processes significantly reduce power consumption, allowing Micro LEDs to achieve higher brightness and optical efficiency. The Chiplet architecture’s integration of light emission and driving functionality provides a potential route to eliminate the reliance on TFT substrates. This innovation enables the transfer of pixel devices to various substrates, such as flexible or transparent materials, thus expanding Micro LED’s application scenarios.
Founded in July 2020, Micro Win Display specializes in the design and development of Micro LED chips and solutions for mass transfer. Early in its inception, the company began researching and developing the Chiplet architecture for Micro LED. In 2021, Micro Win became the first company in China to launch a 200-micron Micro LED package. By 2023, its Chiplet products had completed customized development and were shipped in small batches to leading global semiconductor display manufacturers.
Since its establishment, Micro Win Display has completed two rounds of funding, including an angel round in December 2021 and a pre-A round in March 2023, raising tens of millions of RMB. Rongyi Investment led the Pre-A round, with Xinghan Capital serving as the sole financial advisor.
