Introduction
Yancheng Hongshi Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Hongshi Technology“) has announced the successful mass production of its self-developed Micro LED micro-display chips.
Recent Developments
Wang Shidong, a representative from Hongshi Technology, stated that following the announcement of mass production, the company has secured nearly $5.5 million in potential orders. Currently, Hongshi has completed two rounds of funding, the Angel and Pre-A rounds, and is actively promoting Series A equity financing. The company plans to continue increasing its investment in research and development as well as production line construction.
Company Background
Founded in 2017, Hongshi Technology focuses on the mid-to-high-end camera module market for smartphones. In 2020, the company established a development strategy centered around “core technology,” initiating a technological transformation and industry upgrade. Today, Hongshi has emerged as one of the few companies capable of mass-producing micro-display chips.
Product Offerings
According to Hongshi’s official website, the company has launched the Aurora series of monochrome micro-displays (Aurora A6, A7, A3), a single green/white Micro LED light engine, AR glasses equipped with a 0.12-inch single green binocular optical module, and projection pens utilizing a Micro LED monochrome light engine.
Notably, in June 2024, Hongshi Technology showcased its Aurora series Micro LED products at the Changchun International Optoelectronics Expo.
The Aurora A6 Micro LED micro-display features high brightness and contrast, low energy consumption, and a long lifespan, with a resolution of 640×480 and a brightness of 8 million nits. It offers multiple interface versions, including MIPI, SPI, and QSPI, making it widely applicable in AR glasses, micro-projection, digital lighting, and intelligent car lights. According to reports from Jiangsu, China, the Aurora A6 is recognized as the world’s brightest 0.12-inch micro-display chip.

Customization and Project Updates
The Aurora series currently includes three models: 0.12 inches, 0.61 inches, and 0.69 inches. The Micro LED micro-displays can be customized in different sizes and shapes based on customer requirements.
In January 2024, the micro-display chip project of Zhejiang Hongshi Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. commenced in the Huzhou Moganshan High-tech Zone, with Hongshi Technology as the investor.
The project has a total investment of $1.7 million, covering an area of 80 acres, and aims to establish a production base with an annual capacity of 10 million micro-display chips. Upon completion, the project is expected to achieve sales revenue of $3.8 million, with profits of $1.1 million and taxes of $380,000.
