On March 27, reports emerged that Canadian Micro LED technology developer VueReal has entered into a partnership with Germany’s Continental to develop Micro LED automotive display products using new technologies.

According to VueReal, the collaboration with Continental will unlock the enormous potential of Micro LED technology in the automotive sector. This partnership signifies a joint effort to redefine automotive design, with VueReal enhancing in-car experiences through its specialized Micro LED technology and capabilities.
Continental noted that it has incorporated VueReal’s Micro LED technology into its latest automotive display solutions, achieving superior display quality while offering more design and interface possibilities for in-car displays, ultimately delivering a new experience for users.
Data shows that VueReal, founded in 2016, has proprietary continuous pixelation micro-printing technology capable of printing over 1 billion LEDs in a single pass, filling a glass substrate (over Gen 4.5) in under 10 minutes. This highly scalable technology supports mass production of Micro LED displays.
In April last year, VueReal achieved sub-7μm spacing for full-color Micro LED deposition through its MicroSolid Printing™ platform, meeting the production demands of high-performance Micro LED displays, applicable in wearables, smartphones, automotive displays, and more.
Previously, VueReal announced its focus on automotive displays, with a production capacity increase allowing for the annual production of approximately 2 million Micro LED displays to meet the needs of in-car display applications. By the end of last year, VueReal had begun delivering high-resolution and high-transparency Micro LED displays to its customers.
As a well-known automotive component manufacturer, Continental is intensifying its research and development of Micro LED automotive parts. In the field of automotive displays, Continental has collaborated with Swarovski to create a 10-inch transparent Micro LED center console display, achieving high brightness and contrast.
In automotive lighting, Continental has developed a Micro LED smart anti-glare HD lighting projection system, with 25,600 individually packaged LEDs per light source, enabling intelligent anti-glare high-precision adaptive driving beam (ADB) functions for both high and low beams.
Additionally, Continental has developed a Micro LED-based automotive system module that generates dynamic projection displays around the vehicle. This product, with its compact size and powerful projection performance, enhances safety around vehicles and helps reduce accidents.
