Announcement of Contract Termination
On December 20, Longli Technology announced the termination of a major contract related to Mini LED backlight display modules. The company disclosed that after further discussions with Bosch, the two parties decided to terminate the long-term contract signed earlier for the supply of in-vehicle Mini LED backlight display modules for BMW projects between 2025 and 2033.
Disagreements During Product Development
Longli Technology stated that while the agreement was an international long-term contract spanning 2025–2033, certain disagreements regarding product specifications arose during the initial product development phase. Despite active efforts to address these issues, both parties failed to reach a consensus, ultimately leading to the contract’s termination.
Contract Details
In October 2022, Longli Technology and Bosch Group officially signed the agreement, which had an estimated total value of ¥30.27 billion ($4.21 billion). The contract stipulated the provision of Mini LED backlight display modules for BMW vehicles over an eight-year period.
No Impact on 2024 Financial Performance
Since the contract was set to commence in 2025, it had not yet contributed to Longli Technology’s revenue, meaning the termination will not negatively impact the company’s 2024 financial performance.
Longli’s Growth in Automotive Electronics
Despite the termination, Longli Technology emphasized its continued expansion in the automotive electronics market. The company has earned recognition from numerous tier-1 suppliers and leading automakers due to its advanced technological capabilities, high-quality manufacturing, and responsiveness to customer needs. Current partners include Continental, Faurecia, Visteon, Desay SV, AUO, and automakers such as BYD, NIO, Li Auto, XPeng, SAIC, Geely, Zeekr, and Hyundai.
Future Outlook
The company assured stakeholders that this contract termination will not adversely affect its future production, operations, or financial stability. Moving forward, Longli Technology plans to focus on core business growth, refine its industry positioning, and promote sustainable development in line with its strategic roadmap.
