Innovision‘s Breakthrough in Full-Color Micro-LED Microdisplays
Innovision has announced the successful illumination of the world’s first XGA vertical stacked full-color Micro-LED microdisplay chip. This innovative chip utilizes the WLVSP™ (Wafer-Level Vertical Stacked Pixel) technology, which integrates RGB colors with a CMOS driver backplane. This achievement represents a significant breakthrough in Innovision’s core technology for full-color Micro-LED microdisplays.

Advancements in Vertical Stacked Pixel (VSP) Technology
Innovision states that its Vertical Stacked Pixel (VSP) technology offers significant compatibility benefits with large-diameter wafers. In early 2023, Innovision completed the research and development, along with the pilot production line, for 8-inch silicon-based Micro LED microdisplay chips. This work validated the feasibility of mass production using large-diameter wafers and established the necessary technological groundwork. By September 2023, Innovision had successfully developed the vertical stacking (VSP) process, enabling single-chip integration of AlGaInP and GaN material systems. This accomplishment is expected to “accelerate the commercialization of global Micro-LED microdisplay colorization.”
Innovision’s Pioneering Role in Micro LED Technology
Founded in 2021, Innovision focuses on the research, development, production, and sales of Micro LED chips. The team was among the first in China to engage in the development and small-batch production of Micro LED microdisplay chips and has led the way in integrating circuit manufacturing processes with Micro LED chip production.

Benefits of Innovision’s VSP Technology and IDM Model
Innovision’s unique VSP technology, combined with 8-inch integrated circuit production lines, boasts high performance, cost efficiency, and high yield. This approach allows for the simultaneous production of both Micro LED giant chips and microdisplay screens on the same technological path. Innovision has achieved complete self-control through an IDM model that encompasses patent layout, product design, production, manufacturing, and packaging testing.
Ongoing Innovations in Micro LED Microdisplays
Previous reports indicate that Innovision has successfully illuminated 0.39-inch and 0.12-inch Micro LED microdisplays. The company continues to pioneer advancements in this field, with the 0.12-inch Micro LED microdisplay receiving notable attention for its capabilities.
