HKC has recently signed a strategic agreement to establish a Mini-LED backlight/display module and all-in-one production line in Liuyang, China, with a total investment of ¥9 billion (~$12.4 billion). This project represents a significant move in HKC’s development of cutting-edge display technology.

Details of the ¥9 Billion Project
The signed project will focus on the construction of a Mini-LED backlight/display module and an all-in-one production line using COB (Chip-on-Board) technology. The products will mainly be used in LCD televisions, automotive displays, Mini-LED direct view modules, and all-in-one systems. This investment marks the fourth project for HKC in Liuyang, following its earlier investments in HKC Optoelectronics, HKC Jinyang, and the HKC Industrial Complex.
In 2019, HKC made a substantial investment of ¥28 billion (~$3.9 billion) in Liuyang Economic Development Zone to establish an 8.6-generation TFT-LCD production line and a bonding and laminating production line. These lines primarily produce large-size UHD displays, and the project was completed and started production within 14 months.
In 2024, HKC continued to maximize production at its Changsha HKC Optoelectronics facility, achieving a 99% yield rate. The expected year-on-year revenue growth for 2024 is 28.7%, with tax revenue growth reaching 57.25%. The company has become the second billion-dollar enterprise in Liuyang Economic Development Zone.
Over ¥10 Billion Investment in Mini-LED (MLED)
HKC has significantly expanded its investment in Mini-LED technology in 2024, with over ¥10 billion (~$1.39 billion) in project investments. Key developments include:
- January 2024: The launch of the first large-size COB display production line in Yichang.
- May 2024: The Changsha HKC Smart Manufacturing Complex nears completion.
- October 2024: The Mini-LED project and high-power chip heat dissipation packaging project, with a total investment of ¥10 billion (~$1.39 billion), were established, focusing on the production of high-end Mini-LED direct view modules and backlight modules.
- With the latest ¥9 billion Mini-LED project in Liuyang, HKC demonstrates its significant commitment to the Mini-LED sector.

New Product Launches and Business Expansion
In addition to its massive investments, HKC has announced several key developments in new display technologies. In late 2024, HKC launched new products such as the 12.3-inch FHD in-cell touch automotive display and the 10.1-inch Mini-LED direct-view display. On December 9, HKC officially unveiled the industry’s first 6.67-inch Micro-LED direct-view screen with a glass-based HMO backplane.
Expansion into New Markets
HKC has also established four subsidiaries, including Mianyang HKC Technology Co., Ltd., Guizhou HKC Display Technology Co., Ltd., Guizhou HKC Jinyang Technology Co., Ltd., and Mianyang HKC Electronics Technology Co., Ltd., all focusing on new display technologies.
Furthermore, HKC signed a ¥2.4 billion (~$330 million) equity increase agreement with Mianyang Investment Group, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the cooperation between HKC and Mianyang. This partnership is expected to boost the development of the new display industry and contribute to the IPO listing of HKC.
