Hisense has unveiled its new E8N Ultra custom-designed Mini LED TV, available in 75-inch and 85-inch models, priced at $1,820 and $2,380, respectively.
The E8N Ultra features a 3840×2160 resolution “Black Obsidian Pro” display with a refresh rate of 144Hz, which can be overclocked to 288Hz. The 75-inch version includes 4,000 dimming zones, while the 85-inch model has 5,376 dimming zones, with peak brightness reaching 5,800 nits. The display covers 90% of the BT.2020 color gamut and 98% of the DCI-P3 color space.
Earlier this year, on April 17, Hisense partnered with the game “Black Myth: Wukong” to launch the E8N Pro Mini LED TV series, which includes models ranging from 65 to 100 inches, priced between $990 and $3,220. These models come equipped with a 4K 144Hz ultra-low black “Obsidian Pro” display that supports frame interpolation up to 288Hz, with an XDR Pro peak brightness of 5000 nits and 95% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage. They are compatible with major gaming consoles and feature a dedicated mode for “Black Myth: Wukong.”
As one of the leading Chinese TV brands pushing Mini LED technology, Hisense has launched several Mini LED TV models this year. On May 8, Hisense’s sub-brand Vidda introduced the Vidda X Ultra AI TV series along with the Vidda C2 smart projector lineup, offering screen sizes of 65, 75, 85, and 100 inches, with prices ranging from $670 to $2,170. The Vidda X Ultra series is equipped with the next-generation “Eight Crystal” Mini LED backlight technology, enhancing dimming precision by 5.4 times and improving luminous efficiency by 12.2%, while optical focusing technology minimizes halo effects.
On March 15, Hisense introduced its UX, U8, and U7 Mini LED TV series. The new UX series features over 40,000 dimming zones, AI-powered algorithms, and 24V Mini LED chips, resulting in a 33% increase in luminous efficiency. The lenses’ microstructure design boosts light convergence by 21%, and high-temperature resistant materials raise thermal stability by 31%.
Hisense is not alone in the Mini LED race. Other brands such as TCL, Xiaomi, Skyworth, Huawei, Changhong, Konka, Sharp, Samsung, and Sony have all announced Mini LED TV models this year. According to incomplete statistics from Hangjianet Display, over 30 Mini LED TVs have been released, signaling that Mini LED technology is a major focus for leading brands in 2024.
Furthermore, market demand for TVs has risen this year due to large-scale sporting events, trade-in policies, and shopping festivals. Brands are advancing high-value product iterations, such as Mini LED backlit TVs, to meet this growing demand.
