Coretronic Corporation has introduced its “Mini LED Energy-Saving High Dynamic Contrast Display Module Plan,” focusing on the development of LED light types and high-transparency diffuse plates. By integrating high-reflective and scattering soft boards from Tongtai Electronics, the company aims to meet energy-saving and thinness demands, while enhancing product performance. As a result, Coretronic has successfully developed energy-saving Mini LED high dynamic contrast thin display modules for laptops and medical displays.

Mini LED‘s Rising Role in the Display Market
Coretronic Corporation believes that Mini LED technology will become one of the key trends in the display market in the coming years. Its applications range from automotive displays and gaming monitors to medical displays, high-end laptops, and large-size TVs. Mini LED technology utilizes local dimming design, offering better color reproduction and providing liquid crystal panels with more precise high dynamic range (HDR) zones. Moreover, the thickness of Mini LED is closer to that of OLED, and it can save up to 80% in power consumption. As a result, Mini LED is positioned as an energy-efficient, thin, HDR-focused backlight source, making it ideal for gaming monitors, medical displays, smartphones, televisions, and automotive panels.
Development Achievements and Patent Applications
This initiative, which focuses on LED light types and high-transparency diffuse plates, has successfully developed energy-efficient, high dynamic contrast, thin display modules for laptops and medical devices. These modules solve issues related to brightness stability and power consumption that typically arise during high-performance operation. During the course of this project, Coretronic Corporation applied for a total of 17 patents.
Enhancing Product Applications and Industry Growth
The products developed through this plan not only achieve superior uniformity and energy efficiency in high-brightness usage scenarios but also expand the range of potential applications. Through the outcomes of this initiative, Coretronic aims to foster research and development as well as industry integration within Taiwan’s display and electronic component sectors. This collaborative effort will help drive the production of high-value, high-margin products.
