On December 18, 2024, BOE MLED Technology Co., Ltd. held an equipment installation ceremony for its MLED project in Zhuhai, Guangdong, China.
Earlier, on October 31, 2024, BOE MLED Technology released an international tender notice for the Mini/Micro LED COB display product expansion project (2), with the tendered products including two automated calibration devices.
According to reports, BOE MLED Technology was jointly established by BOE Huan Can Optoelectronics and BOE MLED. In September 2024, the MLED Zhuhai project was fully launched with a total investment of approximately 1 billion RMB (approximately $140 million USD). Equipment installation is expected to be completed by the end of December 2024, with the first products to be powered on and mass production expected to begin in the first quarter of 2025.

The Micro LED wafer manufacturing and packaging test base project was initiated in 2022, with the first product powered on in September 2024. Mass production is anticipated by December 2024, with an expected annual capacity of 24,000 wafers (6-inch wafers) and 45,000,000 Micro LED pixel devices.
