Key Product Developments in Micro LED Technology
BOE HC SemiTek has announced that the company is focusing on the development of technologies for Micro LED COW (Chip on Wafer), COC (Chip on Carrier), Micro LED pixel devices, AR microdisplays, and ADB automotive lighting products.

COW/COC Products for Large-Scale Applications
The COW/COC products are primarily used in TFT backplanes for large-area transfer applications. The company has been working closely with leading domestic and international clients on these products, which are applicable in large-size TVs and smart wearables. These products are currently at the industry’s forefront in terms of size, efficiency, and yield and have entered the stable shipment stage.
Innovations in Micro LED Pixel Devices for Fine-Pitch Displays
At the same time, BOE HC SemiTek has developed a dedicated Micro LED pixel device product for indoor fine-pitch displays. This product features a smaller light-emitting area, higher reliability, and better yield, which enables higher screen contrast. It is compatible with most of the driver ICs available on the market, providing better display effects and cost control for fine-pitch displays. The product has completed certification and is expected to be launched in early 2025.
AR Microdisplays for Glasses and Automotive Lighting Solutions
In the field of AR glasses microdisplays, the company has made significant progress, having recently achieved the illumination of a 0.12-inch microdisplay with a 3.75-micron pixel pitch, while continuing to collaborate with some terminal customers on joint research and development. The ADB products for smart automotive lighting have successfully illuminated 10,000-level pixel devices, and the company is continuously optimizing processes and improving reliability.
Micro LED Mass Production in Zhuhai
Regarding Micro LED production, on November 6, 2024, BOE HC SemiTek officially launched its 6-inch Micro LED mass production line in Zhuhai, marking the first fully automated Micro LED chip manufacturing factory in the industry. Once fully operational, the plant will have the capacity to produce 24,000 6-inch Micro LED wafers and 45 billion Micro LED pixel devices annually.
