AUO continues to drive dual-axis transformation, expanding beyond its core business of display panels to focus on two major sectors: Mobility Solutions and Vertical Solutions.
Chairman Shuanglang Peng stated that mobility solutions are an essential growth engine. Last year, the revenue from this sector grew by 20% year-over-year. The acquisition of BHTC helped boost the company’s automotive revenue by 60% in the same period, and it is projected that the growth will continue in the coming years, with the visibility of automotive orders being relatively high.
General Manager Fu-Ren Ke shared that this year marks the first time AUO and BHTC have exhibited together at CES, with the level of visitors increasing severalfold. With BHTC‘s addition, AUO has forged even closer relationships with European automakers and further strengthened its global automotive partnerships. In addition, the company’s collaboration with Sony Honda on the AFEELA 1 electric vehicle will launch the car in the United States in the second half of next year, becoming the first car on the market to feature a Micro LED display.

Fu-Ren Ke noted that the automotive market is expected to grow slightly this year, with a forecasted 3-4% growth in automotive panel shipments. The proportion of high-value automotive products from AUO is also expected to increase. For the first quarter, Mobility Solutions revenue is projected to grow by 6-7% quarter-over-quarter, with an expected annual growth of 10-15%. Over the past three years, AUO and BHTC have secured automotive contracts worth over $15 billion USD, and these new contracts are expected to contribute revenue over the next few years, helping the sector achieve a double-digit compound annual growth rate.
Fu-Ren Ke further emphasized that Mobility Solutions accounted for 25% of total revenue last year, a notable increase from 18% the previous year. The company is targeting a 30% share in the future. Additionally, panel and Vertical Solutions accounted for approximately 55% and 14% of total revenue, respectively. The goal is for panel revenue to drop below 50% within 2-3 years, while Vertical Solutions is targeting a 20% share.
