On January 7, 2025, Alphabetter announced the successful delivery of its final batch of Micro LED mass testing equipment for the year, achieving its annual delivery target.
About the Project
Alphabetter has been deeply engaged in the development of Micro LED spectral optical testing technology, relying on its proprietary core technologies, including imaging optics, spectral measurement, data modeling, and system control. Combining these with rich experience gained from actual production across multiple customer sites, the company provides a comprehensive suite of solutions for luminous performance, displacement measurement, and appearance inspection.
Recently, Alphabetter delivered two major pieces of equipment:
M1070P: Specifically designed for luminous performance PL testing for COW/COC. This device offers exceptional spatial resolution, spectral resolution, accuracy, and stability, perfectly replacing similar overseas products, ensuring efficient and precise test results.
M1075A: Developed for appearance/position AOI testing for COW/COC. This equipment achieves industry-leading precision and has been optimized to reduce COO costs further. Additionally, it can easily link with PL data, enabling more efficient data management and analysis.
These two products demonstrate Alphabetter‘s innovative capabilities and technical strength in the Micro LED testing field.
Since 2024, with the successful launch of initial customer pilot lines and mass production lines, Micro LED manufacturing technology has transitioned from lab-based development to pilot and small-batch mass production. 2025 is expected to be a critical year for capacity ramp-up and yield improvement, directly impacting cost reduction and scalability in the industry. With key technical challenges like mass transfer and repair being overcome, the importance of testing technologies is becoming increasingly evident, and capital investments are growing significantly. Testing demand has shifted from being optional to a necessity, with methods evolving from qualitative testing to quantitative testing. Currently, a combination of PL, AOI full inspection, and EL spot checks has proven effective in solving the process control and yield monitoring issues brought about by the miniaturization of Micro LED. Alphabetter aims to leverage its continually improving optical testing solutions to significantly enhance full-process yield monitoring and reduce production costs, providing strong momentum for the high-quality development of the new display industry.
Looking forward, Alphabetter will continue to focus on Micro LED testing technology, pushing the limits of process capabilities, driving cutting-edge technological innovations, and offering efficient, stable, and comprehensive testing solutions to its industry clients. This will support the further advancement of new display technologies to greater heights.
