Recent Developments in MLED Construction
The MLED construction is in full swing. Recent announcements from Yancheng, Huai’an District, and Cuiping New District indicate that three major MLED projects have recently signed contracts and commenced groundbreaking activities.
- A third-generation LED micro-pitch commercial display project with a total investment of 1 billion RMB has been signed.
- A production project for LED display components, invested by Xinguangxin Technology Co., Ltd.
- The Youming Innovation Industry Manufacturing Base project, with an investment of 500 million RMB, has commenced construction.

Third-Generation LED Micro-Pitch Commercial Display Project
According to Yancheng’s announcement, a project producing 100,000 square meters of third-generation LED micro-pitch commercial displays has been signed in Haiyan Wuyuan Street, with a total investment of 1 billion RMB. The investor is Zhejiang Boulante Semiconductor Technology Co., Ltd. (referred to as “Boulante Semiconductor”).

The project will be implemented in two phases; the first phase involves an investment of 500 million RMB, with approximately 250 million RMB allocated for equipment. The project will lease around 12,000 square meters of industrial factory space in a medical industry park, with production expected to commence in 2025. Once fully operational, the first phase is projected to generate at least 500 million RMB in output value.
Phase one plans to establish a fully automated Industry 4.0 production line, aiming for an annual production capacity of 50,000 square meters of third-generation LED micro-pitch commercial displays. This product will utilize dynamic scanning technology, featuring high integration, exquisite image quality, and excellent color reproduction. It is expected to be widely used in command control centers, conference centers, broadcasting studios, and XR virtual shooting applications.

Boulante Semiconductor, founded in 2012, focuses on the research, production, and sales of sapphire substrates, silicon carbide substrates, MEMS sensors, and display modules.
LED Display Component Production Project by Xinguangxin Technology
On June 29, Huai’an District announced the signing of an LED display component production project. The investor is Shenzhen Xinguangxin Technology Co., Ltd. (referred to as “Xinguangxin”). Following the implementation of the project, it is expected to achieve annual invoicing exceeding 400 million RMB and generate over 10 million RMB in taxes.
Founded in 2015, Xinguangxin specializes in the R&D, production, and sales of LED optoelectronic components. Its product offerings include LED digital displays, LED dot matrix displays, and semi-outdoor and outdoor LED display components, along with supporting plastic kits (such as waterproof seals for mask bases) and circuit boards (PCBs), as well as die-casting aluminum enclosures and injection molding.
Youming Innovation Industry Manufacturing Base Project
On July 1, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Youming Innovation Industry Manufacturing Base project was held in Cuiping New District, Zhongshan City, with a total investment of 500 million RMB. The project is expected to be completed within a year and a half, with an estimated annual output value exceeding 300 million RMB upon completion.
This project primarily aims to establish a manufacturing base for medical beauty light sources and components, a technology R&D center (including R&D offices, laboratories, testing rooms, and inspection rooms), and related supporting facilities for producing medical beauty light sources, components, and semiconductor packaging devices.
Youming Optoelectronics specializes in the R&D, manufacturing, and sales of LED packaging and related products. It relies on three core technologies: high-efficiency light technology, flip-chip technology, and SAT protection technology. The company has made significant progress in bioluminescence, laser technology, new displays, and automotive applications, accumulating over 80 patents and intellectual property rights, including the domestically innovative SAT anti-halogen technology.
At ALE2024, Youming Optoelectronics showcased its new automotive Mini display product—N1616 series, and the new automotive interactive light product—C1010 series. The N1616 series features high reliability, with the white light version supporting 95% of the NTSC color gamut and the blue light version supporting 110% of the NTSC color gamut (when paired with QD film), a low H/P ratio of 0.4, and a 12V high-voltage design allowing the entire screen’s brightness to reach 1200 nits at 10 mA.
Progress of MLED Projects in the First Half of the Year
Since the beginning of 2024, there have been 40 new developments related to MLED projects, including contract signings, project completions, and production launches. These projects cover various aspects of MLED packaging products, Micro LED wafer manufacturing, high-end integrated circuit equipment, display chips, and module production. As new technologies continue to mature and applications expand, market demand is also growing, driving the construction and investment in related projects, while helping to meet the market’s need for high-quality LED display products.
